Spa treatments

On this trip it's been so nice to pamper ourselves by enjoying differerent beauty treatments. True luxury with pedicures, manicures and massages (and for ridiculously small prices).

Pedicure time :)

Sipping lemon&ginger tea after a balinese oil massage.

The currency on Bali makes you feel like a millionaire, spending 80 000 on a massage ;) (which is however only 5€)

When visiting Bali or Thailand, we highly recommend trying one or more spas, totally worth it!

Paradise on a budget

The hotel we stayed in at Koh Phangan made promotion for being "paradise on a budget", but we took this concept even further. There were many other hotels on the same bech and especilly one had a really nice pool :)

So, that's were we spent our last two days :D

"Why pay for a resort when you can still come and sunbathe, bubble away in the pool and have a yummy lunch?" ;)

It was strange that the hotel's actual guests didn't want to enjoy this view, but we sure did!

In the evening we celebrted the
invitations we got to the graduation ceremony at our University in our bungalow and home terrace. (Check out our princess bed and chic Sauvignon Blanc)

Strolling on the beach to have the last moment of feet in the sand <3

Happy Father's Day!

Doing nothing :)

Greetings from Koh Phangan! We arrived here on Tuesday afternoon and since then we have pretty much been doing nothing. Feels like heaven. ;)

This dog illustrates quite well the mode we are in at the moment.

We spend the days laying in our hammocks, reading books, eating and occasionally taking a nap.

Kata also found a coconut and tried really hard to get it open, but finally had to give up. This was the entertainment of the day. :)

Except for our daily routines including food and chilling we have also done some yoga, meditation and attended a couple of lectures at the Agama yoga resort.

Our bungalow neighbourhood.

Dinner time!

It's not about the journey

Inspired by our 31-hour journey from Langkawi to Koh Phangan we decided to share some traveling moments with you.

We have been traveling by different modes of transportation during our trip, and due to our extensive empirical research we can conclude that it is definitely not about the journey, it is the destination that makes it worthwhile.

We have travelled by plane, bus, boat, taxi, minibus, ferry etc.

The boat to Gili that was filled with everything from beer to hay and from ginger to people.

Our fancy VIP bus with wide seats, tv-screens and nice movie selection. The trip from Pulau Tioman to Kuala Lumpur took 6 hours.

Interesting snacks on the lunch break. Pink and green bread..?

Billion Star Ekspres nightbus from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.

The local bus in Penang.

Waiting for the bus in Penang, knowing only the number of the bus, and having no clue if it will come in 5 minutes or 5 hours.

Taking the fast boat between the islands is the nicest way to travel, at least when the boat is not cancelled due to the big waves or people get seasick during the ride.

Sooo many passport controls...

Nice decorations in the bus from Satun to Hat Yai in Thailand.

Finding the right guy with a minivan that accepts your ticket makes you really happy!

Sometimes the minibus looks like this in the reality, even if you were shown a picture of a brand new Mercedes with aircon when you bought the tickets.

Usually the trip takes a few hours longer than you were promised, and includes way more stops along the way than what was discussed.

Malaysia is exceptional when it comes to timetables. If your told that the boat leaves at 8.30, it probably leaves at 8.33. The organised Finn inside us really appreciates this! Indonesia and Thailand are a whole different story. First you are told that the boat leaves at 7. When it's almost 7, and you start to wonder whether the transfer to the pier should leave soon, you are told that the boat leaves at 8. In the pier you are told that it leaves 9.30, and then it actually leaves at 10. Time efficient.

But when you finally reach the desitination, it is so worth it!
